Interpreting Legislation
Many statutes affecting community associations are difficult to understand. Moreover, many statutes are interdependent, meaning the interpretation of one statute may require knowledge and understanding of other statutes. We are experienced in reviewing and interpreting statutes with respect to their application to individual associations. Our firm is also involved in the legislative arena, taking an active role in opposing legislation that may be harmful to associations and in promoting legislation that will benefit associations, including legislation related to transition of control from developers to homeowners.
